The Central Reserve Police Force (crpf long form) is the country's largest Central Armed Police Force. It is under the jurisdiction that is the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India. The CRPF's principal function is in supporting the State/Union Territories by conducting police operations to enforce law and order , and to combat the insurgency. It was established under the form of Crown Representative's Police on 27 July 1939. Following Indian Independence, it became an official part of the Central Reserve Police Force on the enactment of CRPF Act on 28 December 1949.

Organizational Set-up of the Force

The Hqrs of headquarters of the Force Headquarters of Central Reserve Police Force is located at Block No. 1, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. It is the CGO Complex is led by Director General who is supported with three Addl. Directors General , 9 Inspectors General of Police, a Financial Adviser and Director (Medical). The structure follows the following :

Directorate General

Administration

Administration Directorate Administration Directorate is functioning under the direction under the supervision under the supervision of lG (Adm). They are assisted with the help of DIG (Adm) in addition to DIG (Welfare).

Personnel

The Personnel Directorate is functioning under the overall supervision of lG (Pers). The director is assisted by the aid of DIG (Pers), DIG (CR and Vig), DIG (Org), DIG (Estt) and Comdt(Estt).

Training

The Training Directorate operates under the overall supervision from IG(Training). The Directorate is supported by the assistance of DIG (Training-l), DIG (Training-ll) and DIG(Sports).

Operations

The Operations Directorate is functioning under the supervision of IG (OPS). He is assisted with the help with the help of DIG (OPS-I) in addition to DIG (OPS-II).

Provisioning

The Provisioning Directorate operates under the direct oversight of the IG (Provisioning). He is assisted by Department of General Management (Prov) along with DIG (Mod as well as OR), DIG(MT), Comdt. (Mod) and Asstt. Director (Prov).

Communication

IG(Communication) is in charge of Communication Dte. Communication Dte. He is supported by DIG (Eqpt ), DIG (Tech) and DIG (IT) .

Intelligence

The Intelligence Directorate is functioning under the general supervision is the responsibility of IG (Intelligence). He is assisted by DIG (MAC),Commandant(Int) and PRO.

Establishment

The Establishment branch operates under direct supervision by IG(Estt.). The IG(Estt.) is supported by DIG(Law) along with DIG (Rectt).

Finance

The Finance Branch and Pay is located under the direct supervision by FA. FA is assisted by Dy.FA.

Medical

The Medical Branch is functioning under the supervision of the IG Director (Medical). They are supported by two Dy. Director (Medical)
